March 8 International Women's Day

Striving for a World of Equality

On March 8, the world celebrates International Women's Day, a day dedicated to celebrating women's achievements, highlighting gender equality and standing up for women's rights around the world. It is a day to reflect on the progress that has been made and to become aware of the challenges that women still have to overcome in their quest for equality.

So imagine a world where men and women are on equal footing. A world where the wage someone earns does not depend on their gender, but on their skills, experience and contributions.

Let us strive together for a world where men and women have equal opportunities, are treated equally and are valued equally. Because only then can we truly say that we have achieved a just and inclusive society.

ACLVB/CGSLB continues the fight for equality between women and men.

Striving for gender equality within the union

ACLVB/CGSLB's commitment to guarantee an equal distribution of men and women on the candidate lists is a step in the right direction. It is a way to demonstrate that they are aware of the need for diversity and inclusion, not only as a matter of equity but also as a way to better meet the needs and interests of their members.

Let's hope that initiatives like these from ACLVB/CGSLB will inspire others to also take action for a more inclusive and just society, in which gender equality is a given.

Thank in advance to our female delegates who have continued to stand up for the rights and well-being of workers!

Indexation of March wages (payment 29/03/2024)

Good news! Your salary increases by 1.03% thanks to the index.

The index is determined by the price evolution of approximately 1,000 commonly used products and services. The adjustment of wages to the index is not regulated by law, but through sectoral agreements.

That is why indexation is not implemented at the same time in every sector.

For ACLVB/CGSLB, adjusting wages to price increases through automatic indexation is an absolute priority.

SPEAK UP Channels

Bullying, harassment, stress, burnout, unethical behavior… Did you know you can get internal or external help to deal with all these situations?

The different channels are still little known. Whistleblowing was recently added to other channels following Belgium's alignment with a European law dealing with confidentiality and protection against retaliation in the event of a complaint. This new channel ensures anonymity for the whistleblower, as well as for any witnesses who could be consulted following your complaint. Because, in fact, a team will investigate the undesirable behavior that you have reported to it, starting by verifying the facts that you have reported, then widening the circle of research until obtaining a complete picture of the situation to be able to apply, if necessary, appropriate measures.

You will find all the useful information here

In a table, here is the list of channels and the protections that accompany these channels:
