Committees for Prevention and Protection at Work of ING Belgium

The Committees for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPBW) is a common body that must be set up in companies with more than 50 employees.

The mission of the CPPW is to devise and propose means and to actively contribute to everything that is done to promote the well-being of employees.n.

The four main tasks of the CPPW are:

  • formulating advice and proposals,

  • publish measures regarding the information and training of workers in the field of prevention,

  • a stimulating and supervisory role for the Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at work,

  • participation in the application of the dynamic risk management system by organizing visits to the workshops.

Pursuant to Article 65 of the Law of 4 August 1996, the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPBW) has the main task of devising and proposing all means and actively contributing to everything that is done to promote the well-being of employees in the performance of their work.

It mainly accomplishes this task by issuing advice and formulating proposals regarding the policy for the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases, the global prevention plan and the annual action plan of the head of the company or changes, implementation and results in this regard.

In addition, the Committee is the par excellence joint body when it comes to the interests and consultation of employees in the company, the operation of the internal and external service for prevention and protection in the company and risk analysis in the company. Within this framework (Royal Decree of 3 May 1999), internal regulations are also being drawn up for the Committee
