My Story

I learnt to be a photographer. My degrees in hand, I met my husband and had 3 children and stayed at home for 5 years to raise them. Then I was eager to get back to work, but digital came into the picture! I decided to do some training and followed a course for IT engineers in an IT company. I loved it and worked at that company, Bull, for 5 years. Meanwhile, I had a fourth child and left Bull to work close to home at Caterpillar. When the big bang of 2008 came, I lost my job and stayed at home for 2 years with my heady teans with lots of DIY work.

In 2010, I joined ING as a consultant as a tester, and in 2012 I became an internal, changing from Associate Tester to Functional Analyst. During my ING career, I was also a Dev Engineer, Feature Engineer and eventually Customer Journey expert. Anyway, my whole career has been connected to customers and users, their tools, their data, their support.

When the 2016 restructuring issues started, I delved a bit into unions because I wanted to understand why it was so difficult to secure jobs. I wanted to have an idea of what was going on behind the scenes. When I got a small mandate in SD, I became a part-time union representative.

I went from being a deputy to an effective member of the UD, and one day I was invited to join the CPPW, where I discovered my interest in worker protection. I put all my energy into the 2020 election to win a place on this committee so that I could work for your well-being, which has become my main motivation. From then on, I was able to devote more time to the CGSLB.

In 2024, I became a full-time delegate, receiving a UD mandate and another on the CPPW. Thank you for that! Looking after your protection is a very rewarding job. I keep a close eye on everything that contributes to your well-being, and I'm always ready to listen if you have any concerns.
Because ...
My concern is you.
My interest is the same as yours.
My time is yours.

The next steps for me ? I will work on what you already told me through the survey of April whose analyse highlighted that your management is not aligned with your expectations and organisational practices should be improved.
